🎥 LIVE: #7 Mica Mountain Thunderbolts vs #2 Snowflake Lobos – 4A State Quarterfinals 🏈
The road to the 4A State Championship continues as last year’s defending champions, the #7 Mica Mountain Thunderbolts, travel north to face the #2 Snowflake Lobos in a highly anticipated quarterfinal matchup.
Mica Mountain earned a first-round bye and followed it up with a 35-0 rout of #10 Lake Havasu to advance. Though they graduated many key players from last year’s title team, the Thunderbolts have steadily improved week after week and are once again looking like a serious contender. With a balanced offense and big-play capability on special teams, Mica poses a real threat to upset the Lobos.
Snowflake, meanwhile, continues to dominate on both sides of the ball. The Lobos are coming off a 35-0 shutout win over #15 Eastmark, and their defense has been one of the stingiest in 4A all season. To move on, they’ll need to protect the football and capitalize on every possession against one of the top defenses in Arizona.
Key Players to Watch
🏈 Snowflake Lobos
- #33 Brenner Green – 116 yards rushing per game
- #8 Jacob LaDuke – 146 yards passing per game
- #4 Hayydn Nichols – 15 tackles per game

4A State Playoffs – Quarterfinal Spot on the Line
Snowflake Looks to Rebound, Hosts Eastmark in Round Two Showdown
The Snowflake Lobos are back under the lights Friday night as they host the Eastmark Firebirds in the second round of the Arizona 4A State Football Playoffs.
After finishing the regular season 9-1, the #2-ranked Lobos enter the postseason looking to bounce back from their first loss of the year — a 32-22 defeat to Arcadia that ended what had been a perfect run. With a week to reset and refocus, Snowflake will be eager to reassert itself as a championship contender.
Eastmark (7-4) arrives with momentum after dominating Desert Sunrise 42-14 in the opening round. The Firebirds are seeking redemption after falling to Snowflake 26-6 earlier this season — a game that saw the Lobos trail at halftime before storming back with 26 unanswered points.
Snowflake’s offense is led by junior quarterback #8 Jacob LaDuke, a dynamic dual-threat who’s been the spark of the Lobos’ attack, and junior running back #33 Brenner Green, who has rushed for over 1,000 yards while averaging nearly 8 yards per carry. On defense, senior linebacker #4 Hayydn Nichols continues to anchor the unit, averaging 14 tackles per game and delivering the kind of intensity that sets the tone for the entire team.
Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at Snowflake High School. Fans can tune in live on iTalk 106.7 FM or stream the broadcast at iTalk1067.com.
3A State Football Championships – Round 1
#9 River Valley Dust Devils at #8 Show Low Cougars
Friday, 7:00 PM – Live from Show Low High School
Playoff football has arrived in the White Mountains, and the Show Low Cougars get to open the AIA 3A State Football Championships at home. Show Low enters as the #8 seed and will host the #9 River Valley Dust Devils in what looks like one of the most evenly matched games of the first round.
Show Low’s Balanced Attack
The Cougars have been tough to defend because they can beat teams through the air or on the ground. Senior quarterback #12 Kash Perkins has put together a strong season, throwing for 1,246 yards and 14 touchdowns, while also adding 487 rushing yards and 7 rushing TDs. He’s the engine of the offense and gives Show Low a true dual-threat look.
His top weapon is senior standout #21 Jett Walker — one of the most productive players in the 3A field. Walker has rushed for 685 yards and 14 touchdowns on just 56 carries and is also the Cougars’ leading receiver with 26 catches and 3 more scores. If River Valley can’t slow him down, Show Low’s offense could control the game.
If the Dust Devils sell out to contain Walker, Show Low has plenty of other options:
- #3 Dax Lambson (Sr) – physical runner with 4 rushing TDs
- #85 Chris Yorksmith (Sr) – 13 catches, 3 TDs
- #4 Cameron Hernandez (Sr) – 9 catches, 1 TD
- #7 Dane Roosma (Sr) – 8 catches, 3 TDs
- #6 Zander Perez (So) – 6 catches, 3 TDs
That depth gives Perkins multiple targets and keeps defenses from keying on just one player.
Cougars’ Defensive Playmakers
Show Low also has difference-makers on defense. Sophomore middle linebacker #5 Corbin Wood has been everywhere this season with 64 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and 5 forced fumbles. In the trenches, #77 Cooper Peck (Sr) has been a problem for opposing quarterbacks — he leads the team with 7 sacks, 6 quarterback hurries, and 2 blocked punts. Big playoff games often swing on field position and special teams, and Peck has already shown he can impact that phase.
River Valley’s Run-Heavy Identity
River Valley arrives with a clear identity: they want to run the football and keep running it. The Dust Devils have piled up 2,805 rushing yards this season compared to 555 passing yards, making them one of the more run-committed teams in the bracket.
Most of that production comes from two dangerous backs:
- #21 Aden Montgomery (Jr) – 1,110 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns
- #23 Brodee Abel (So) – 746 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns
If River Valley is able to stay on schedule, move the chains, and shorten the game, this could turn into a physical, grind-it-out playoff battle.
Why This Game Matters
With the 8 vs. 9 matchup, there’s very little separation on paper. Show Low will try to use its offensive balance and home-field energy; River Valley will try to impose its run game and keep the Cougar offense on the sideline. Winner moves on. Loser’s season is over.

🏈 Biggest Game of the Season: #1 Snowflake Lobos vs #2 Arcadia Titans
4A Desert Sky Region Championship – Friday Night in Snowflake
This is the biggest high school football game in Arizona this week — and maybe all season.
Two undefeated powerhouses collide Friday night in Snowflake as the #1-ranked Snowflake Lobos (9-0) host the #2-ranked Arcadia Titans (9-0) for the 4A Desert Sky Region Championship.
The winner not only claims the region crown but also locks up the inside track to the #1 seed in the 4A State Playoffs, which kick off next week.
The Matchup
Both teams have dominated opponents all season, but their styles couldn’t be more different.
Snowflake’s balance, physicality, and defensive intensity have carried them to the top ranking, while Arcadia’s precision passing attack and athletic defense have made them one of the most complete teams in the state.
Snowflake holds the edge in strength of schedule, earning the #1 spot based on quality wins.
Arcadia, however, has been more efficient — scoring more points per game and allowing fewer points than the Lobos.
With two elite programs on a collision course, Friday night’s game is shaping up to be a classic.
Snowflake Lobos – Keys to Victory
The Lobos’ offense starts with junior quarterback #8 Jacob LaDuke, who has thrown for 16 touchdowns this season. Snowflake will need him to be sharp against Arcadia’s stingy defense, as limiting turnovers could be the difference between a win and a long night.
Running back #33 Brenner Green continues to be the engine of the offense. His 167-yard, 2-TD performance against Mesquite last week pushed him past 1,000 yards on the season, averaging nearly 8 yards per carry. Expect Green to be a primary focus of the Titans’ defensive game plan.
Through the air, LaDuke has no shortage of weapons:
- #1 Christian Smith (22 catches, 2 TD)
- #10 Colter Willis (17 catches, 3 TD)
- #5 Mason Raban (14 receptions, 179 yards, 2 TD) – also one of the best down-field blockers in Arizona
- #9 Gionn Jones (13 catches, 3 TD) – questionable after last week’s injury
The Lobos also utilize Green as a receiver out of the backfield, especially in red-zone situations, where he’s added 4 receiving TDs this season.
On defense, senior linebacker #4 Hayydn Nichols anchors one of the most feared units in 4A football. Despite his size (165 lbs), Nichols plays with relentless speed and ferocity — leading the team with 102 tackles, 6 TFLs, 3 interceptions, plus a blocked punt and field goal. His energy fuels Snowflake’s defensive identity.
Execution will be key. The Lobos know points will be at a premium, and mistakes could be costly against a Titans team that thrives on takeaways.
Arcadia Titans – Keys to Victory
Arcadia’s success starts with quarterback #10 Zach Smith, one of the most efficient passers in the state. Smith averages 200 yards per game, completing nearly 70% of his throws with 20 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions.
His top target, #17 Ian Slater, averages 74 receiving yards per game with 39 catches and 5 TDs, while #1 Konner Kammes adds another 28 receptions and 8 touchdowns. Together they form one of the most dangerous duos in 4A.
In the run game, #20 Ryan Jimenez is a nightmare to contain — averaging 118 yards per game and scoring 14 rushing TDs this season. Snowflake’s front seven will have their hands full trying to limit his production.
Defensively, Arcadia brings relentless pressure.
Linebackers #30 Braden Knaub (9 tackles per game) and #45 Julien Olshan (8 tackles per game, 7 TFLs, 3.5 sacks, 8 QB hurries)** lead a unit that averages 70 tackles and 3 sacks per game.
The Titans defense has already forced 18 turnovers this year (8 fumbles, 10 interceptions) while their offense has surrendered just one turnover per game — a recipe for success.
The Stage
Friday night’s contest at Snowflake High School will be a true test of endurance and focus.
The Lobos hope the 3,000-foot elevation gain and long bus ride will work in their favor, but both teams are too talented for fatigue to play a major role.
In a matchup this even, the game could come down to execution, discipline, and turnovers — who can stay composed under pressure and capitalize on key moments.

🎥 LIVE: Mesquite Wildcats at Snowflake Lobos – Friday Night Football! 🏈
The #1-ranked Snowflake Lobos (8-0) put their perfect season on the line tonight as they host the Mesquite Wildcats. Don’t be fooled by Mesquite’s 4-4 record or No. 19 ranking — this is a team with serious upset potential. Just three weeks ago, the Wildcats lit up Eastmark for a 39-34 win, proving they can score fast and often.
Snowflake knows that lesson well — the Lobos had to grind out a second-half comeback to beat Eastmark after being shut out through the first half and much of the third quarter. Expect the Lobos to come out focused, disciplined, and ready to protect their unbeaten streak at home.
💪 Key Players for Snowflake:
- #8 Jacob LaDuke (QB, Junior) – The heart of the Lobo offense and one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in 4A.
- #33 Brenner Green (RB, Senior) – A powerful, explosive back who’s racked up big yardage all season with his ability to break tackles and find daylight.
- #2 Hayydn Nichols (LB/DB, Senior) – A tone-setter on defense and special teams, known for his big hits, key blocks, and momentum-shifting plays.
Expect Gionn Jones, Mason Raban, and Christian Smith to make key contributions with their speed and athleticism — and keep an eye on freshman phenom Ziggy Ulberg, who’s already recorded 21 quarterback hurries and 3 sacks this season, creating problems for opposing offenses.
🐾 Mesquite Scouting Report:
- Recent marquee win: at Eastmark, 39–34 (Oct. 3)
- Feature back: Parker Kaczmarek – averaging 151.9 rushing yards per game with 21 total touchdowns.
- Quarterback: Tallen Curry-Smith – a dangerous dual-threat with 42 rushing yards per game and 7 total touchdowns.
🔥 What to Watch:
- Can the Lobos maintain their #1 ranking and undefeated run?
- Will Mesquite’s big-play offense test Snowflake’s dominant defense?
- How quickly will Snowflake’s offense find rhythm after slow starts in recent games?

Snowflake Lobos (7-0) vs. Eastmark Firebirds (5-2)
Friday Night Lights — LIVE on iTalk 106.7 FM and iTalkSports
The #1-ranked Snowflake Lobos will travel to Mesa, Arizona on Friday night for one of their toughest tests of the season — a matchup against the Eastmark Firebirds, one of the top contenders in the 4A conference.
Snowflake enters the game with a perfect 7-0 record, fresh off a convincing 31-14 win over Combs that showcased the balance and explosiveness of their offense.
Lobos Rolling Behind LaDuke and a Deep Arsenal
Senior quarterback Jacob LaDuke had a breakout performance last week, completing passes all over the field for 219 yards and 4 touchdowns, while also adding a rushing score. His poise in the pocket and ability to extend plays have turned him into one of the brightest young stars in 4A football.
In the backfield, Senior running back Brenner Green continues to set the tone. Green is averaging 96 rushing yards per game and has found the end zone 11 times this season. After being held to just 46 yards against Combs, he’ll be eager to remind fans why he’s one of the most dynamic runners in Arizona.
LaDuke’s receiving corps has also become one of Snowflake’s greatest strengths.
- Christian Smith leads the Lobos with 18 catches and 2 touchdowns, providing reliability in critical downs.
- Gionn Jones has emerged as a deep threat, with 13 receptions and 3 touchdowns, capable of flipping momentum with one big play.
- Mason Raban adds balance with 13 catches and 2 touchdowns, while Colter Willis rounds out the group with 9 receptions and 3 scores, showing great chemistry with LaDuke on rollouts and broken plays.
Defensively, Senior linebacker Haydyn Nichols anchors the unit with 10 tackles per game, setting a physical tone and leading a defense that thrives on discipline and speed to the ball.
Firebirds Flying High Behind a Young Star
The Eastmark Firebirds (5-2) have also been making plenty of noise this season. They’re coming off a 34-7 victory over Poston Butte, bouncing back after a narrow 39-34 loss to Mesquite two weeks ago.
Sophomore quarterback Dayne Silver has been one of the biggest surprises in the state, completing 62% of his passes (66-for-106) for 1,101 yards, 14 touchdowns, and just 5 interceptions. Despite his youth, Silver has shown command and confidence against strong defenses.
His top targets include Maximo Cano, who leads the team with 19 receptions and 4 touchdowns, and Kyson Lunt, who’s turned his 15 receptions into 6 touchdowns, making him one of the Firebirds’ most dangerous red zone threats.
On the ground, running back Zaiden Virani has been a consistent force, averaging 86 yards per game and 7 yards per carry, providing balance to Eastmark’s offense. Defensively, linebacker Bryson Bowman has been a tackling machine — averaging 15.3 tackles per game with 8 tackles for loss — and will play a major role in trying to slow down Snowflake’s high-powered offense.
What’s at Stake
With only three regular-season games remaining, this matchup could have huge playoff implications. A win would help Snowflake lock in home-field advantage heading into the postseason, while Eastmark will be looking to prove they belong in the top tier of the 4A East Region.
Expect fireworks from two well-coached teams with explosive offenses, hard-hitting defenses, and postseason momentum on the line.

Snowflake vs. Combs – LIVE High School Football
📺 Friday Night at 7 PM on iTalk 106.7 Sports
Snowflake puts its perfect 6-0 record on the line as the Lobos host the Combs Coyotes (5-1) in a critical region matchup. Combs was blown out 37-0 by Arcadia last week — the only other unbeaten team in the region — and will be desperate to bounce back and prove that loss was just a stumble. Snowflake, meanwhile, will need to guard against overconfidence as they face a talented and hungry Combs squad determined to get back on track.
🔵 Snowflake Lobos (6-0)
The Lobos have been dominant this season behind one of the most balanced offenses in 4A.
- RB Brenner Green is the engine of Snowflake’s ground game, averaging 104 yards per game, running with power and vision that keeps defenses on their heels.
- QB Jacob LaDuke has been efficient and composed, completing 62% of his passes for 11 touchdowns and just 4 interceptions on the season. He’s coming off an impressive performance against Poston Butte, leading a flawless offensive attack.
- WR Christian Smith leads the receiving corps with 18 catches and 56 yards per game, stretching the field and creating mismatches for defenses.
- LB Hayydn Nichols anchors the defense with 12 tackles per game, consistently disrupting opposing offenses and setting the tone physically.
Snowflake’s defense continues to smother opponents, while the offense executes with precision and depth — a formula that’s kept them perfect so far.
🔴 Combs Coyotes (5-1)
Despite last week’s tough loss to Arcadia, the Coyotes are still one of the best teams in the region. Their offense is led by a capable quarterback who can make plays both through the air and on the ground, and a powerful running back who gives them balance and toughness between the tackles. Defensively, Combs features a standout linebacker and edge rusher who leads the team in tackles and sacks — players who will be key if the Coyotes hope to slow down Snowflake’s balanced attack.
Combs is well-coached, athletic, and dangerous when clicking — and you can bet they’ll bring their best effort in this high-stakes matchup.
🏈 Game Outlook
This one has all the makings of a statement game for both teams.
Will Snowflake continue its unbeaten march toward another playoff run, or will Combs pull off the upset and shake up the region standings?

Snowflake Lobos vs. Poston Butte Broncos — Live on iTalk 106.7
The Snowflake Lobos have been one of the hottest teams in Arizona’s 4A conference this fall, storming through the first half of the season with grit, depth, and explosive playmaking. Now they hit the road for a key Desert Sky matchup against the Poston Butte Broncos, a team hungry to flip their season and defend their home field in San Tan Valley.
Snowflake Spotlight: Balanced and Dangerous
Snowflake’s offense has found its rhythm behind standout running back Brenner Green, who has been nothing short of dominant. Green is averaging over 100 yards per game on the ground and already has 11 touchdowns to his name — numbers that make him one of the most dangerous players in the 4A. He’s not just piling up stats; he’s been the difference-maker in tight contests and the closer in blowouts.
On the other side of the ball, the Lobos’ defense has been anchored by Haydyn Nichols, a tackling machine who leads the team with over 10 tackles per game. Nichols sets the tone with his physicality and nose for the football, ensuring that opposing offenses earn every yard. Together, Green and Nichols represent the kind of balance — offensive firepower and defensive toughness — that championship-caliber teams are built on.
The Lobos’ undefeated run has included dramatic moments, like their 16–13 escape against Bradshaw Mountain, as well as dominant victories over Catalina Foothills and Marcos de Niza. This mix of resilience and explosiveness makes them a true force as they head into October.
Poston Butte: Fighting for Redemption
For the Poston Butte Broncos, this game represents more than just another Friday night. After a rough start to the season, the Broncos are eager to make a statement on their home turf. Players like Easton Filetti, a versatile athlete capable of carrying the load on offense and making plays on defense, and Hunter Decker, a disruptive presence in the trenches, will be key if the Broncos want to challenge the Lobos.
Though the record doesn’t yet reflect it, Poston Butte has athletes who can swing momentum with one big play. Playing in front of their home crowd, they’ll have motivation to give Snowflake everything they can handle.
What’s at Stake
This game isn’t just about one win or loss — it’s about momentum, pride, and positioning in the 4A Desert Sky. Snowflake is looking to continue their undefeated season and strengthen their case as one of the top teams in the state. Poston Butte is seeking to turn adversity into opportunity and claim a signature win that could redefine their season.
Expect a clash of styles: Snowflake’s balanced attack against Poston Butte’s determination to control tempo and create turnovers. Every snap will matter.

Snowflake Lobos vs. Marcos De Niza Padres – Clash of the Unbeatens
The Snowflake Lobos are headed to Tempe for one of the most anticipated matchups of the season as they take on the Marcos De Niza Padres in a battle of 4A powerhouses. Both teams enter this game with perfect 4-0 records, but they’ve taken very different paths to get here.
The Padres have been on a tear through the first four weeks of the season, outscoring their opponents 170-78. Their high-powered offense has made quick work of every challenge so far, and they’ve looked like one of the most complete teams in the state.
The Lobos, on the other hand, have been tested early and often. Snowflake has fought through some close battles to remain unbeaten but is coming off their most convincing win of the season, a 45-13 rout of Catalina Foothills. That performance showed just how dangerous this team can be when everything is clicking.
This matchup has all the makings of a classic: two undefeated squads, playoff implications on the line, and plenty of talent on both sides of the ball. For Snowflake, it may be their toughest test yet as they step onto the Padres’ home turf in Tempe.

🏈 Catalina Foothills Falcons vs Snowflake Lobos – Live on iTalk 106.7
The Catalina Foothills Falcons (2-1) travel north to Snowflake, Arizona for a pivotal 4A conference matchup against the undefeated Snowflake Lobos (3-0).
Catalina Foothills started the season hot with wins over Ironwood Ridge and North Canyon, but last week they ran into trouble, falling 35-0 to 3A powerhouse Pusch Ridge. The Falcons will be looking to bounce back in a big way against one of the toughest programs in the 4A division.
On the other side, the Snowflake Lobos have been finding ways to win every week. After dominant early performances, they survived a nail-biter last Friday, edging Bradshaw Mountain 16-13. Now, the Lobos are defending their perfect record at home in front of one of the most electric fan bases in Arizona high school football.
This game is about pride, momentum, and conference positioning. Can Catalina Foothills pull off the upset, or will Snowflake protect their home turf and improve to 4-0?
